The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has urged party leaders to come together and reposition the party as a credible alternative for national leadership.

Speaking during the party’s 2nd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, Mark emphasized the importance of discipline, unity, and strict adherence to democratic principles within the party.
He praised members for their loyalty and sacrifices, noting that their commitment has continued to strengthen the party despite existing challenges.
According to him, the meeting is taking place at a crucial period when Nigerians are in search of purposeful leadership, fairness, and justice. He described the task before the party as not just political, but also moral and historic.
Mark called on party leaders to set aside personal interests and concentrate on building a strong, people-focused platform capable of driving national renewal. He stressed the need to deepen grassroots engagement and promote inclusiveness across regions, religions, and generations.
The ADC chairman underscored unity as essential and non-negotiable, urging members to close ranks and intensify consultations to boost confidence in the party’s leadership.
He commended state chairmen for embracing dialogue and consultation, expressing optimism that collective action could help rescue Nigeria.
On national concerns, Mark lamented the increasing cases of insecurity, kidnapping, and violence across the country, describing them as disturbing and widespread.
He faulted the ruling All Progressives Congress for what he described as its inability to effectively tackle the country’s security challenges.
However, Mark assured that the ADC is ready to adopt a different strategy in addressing the nation’s problems and building a safer and more prosperous society.
He also called for collaboration with like-minded individuals and groups, stressing that strategic partnerships are vital to overcoming the country’s current challenges.
Mark encouraged members to participate in deliberations with patriotism and a shared vision, expressing confidence that with unity, discipline, and commitment, the party will succeed.
