Troops Arrest 15-Year-Old Suspect Linked to Killing of General Braimah in Borno
Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have arrested a 15-year-old boy identified simply as Tijjani for his alleged involvement in the killing of General Oseni Braimah, another officer, and two soldiers in Borno State.
The suspect reportedly made the confession in a video after he was apprehended by troops on Sunday while on his way to purchase food supplies for his group.
General Braimah, who was the Commander of the 29 Task Force Brigade under OPHK, alongside others, was killed on Thursday when suspected Boko Haram terrorists attacked their base.
Tijjani disclosed that he was arrested in Ngamdu, Borno State. Speaking in Hausa, the teenager stated that he participated in the attacks carried out in Benisheik and Ngamdu on Thursday.
He further explained that the group had moved from Jilli before the attack and returned there afterward.
According to him: “Before the attack, we came from Jilli and returned there after the attack.
“I was sent from Jilli yesterday with N850,000 to collect some logistics from Ngamdu, but I was arrested by troops.
“Yesterday (Saturday), I left other fighters, my colleagues, at Jilli.
“I don’t know what happened to them there.”
