Kidnap of Adelabu’s Sister and Her Sons
The Oyo State Police Command has alleged that a personal assistant to one of the family members of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, collaborated with the kidnappers responsible for the abduction of the ex-minister’s sister and her two sons.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, disclosed this during an interview on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Monday.
According to the police, the victims, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were kidnapped on June 3 along the Elewura area of Ring Road, Ibadan, while she was taking the children to school.
Ayanlade stated that investigations revealed the involvement of a personal aide linked to a member of the family, who allegedly worked with the abductors in carrying out the crime.
The victims were eventually rescued through a coordinated operation by the Nigeria Police Force. During the rescue mission, two suspected kidnappers were neutralised, while several others were arrested.
The police said investigations into the incident are ongoing, with efforts being intensified to ensure all those connected to the abduction are brought to justice.
