ACCI Set to Hold 21st Edition of AITF, Seeks Conducive Environment for Businesses to Thrive
The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) says arrangements are being finalized for the successful hosting of the 21st edition of the Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF).
The 1st Deputy President of ACCI, Prof. Adesoji Adesugba, disclosed this in Abuja while addressing journalists on the forthcoming 21st edition of AITF, themed “Resilience, Trade, Taxation and the Economy.”
Prof. Adesugba, who also serves as Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 21st AITF, said the private sector must be actively engaged if the Federal Government is to achieve its one-trillion-dollar economy target.
Speaking at the briefing, he said:
“On behalf of the President, the Executive Council and members of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), I am delighted to formally announce the 21st edition of the Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF), scheduled to hold from September 25 to October 6, 2026, at the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry Trade Fair Complex, Airport Road, Abuja.”
According to him, this year’s fair represents a major milestone as ACCI celebrates 21 years of promoting trade, investment, enterprise development and economic cooperation.
He noted that over the past two decades, the Abuja International Trade Fair has grown into one of Nigeria’s leading multi-sectoral trade and investment platforms, attracting businesses, investors, policymakers, development partners and exhibitors from Nigeria, across Africa and beyond.
Prof. Adesugba explained that the theme for the 2026 edition, “Resilience: Trade, Taxation and the Economy,” reflects the realities of the current global and domestic business environment.
He said businesses continue to contend with economic uncertainties, inflationary pressures, supply chain disruptions, exchange rate volatility, changing tax regimes and rapid technological transformation.
According to him, the fair will provide a strategic platform for dialogue, innovation and collaboration aimed at strengthening business resilience and promoting sustainable economic growth.
He highlighted the benefits of participation, noting that the Abuja International Trade Fair offers exceptional access to markets, customers, investors, government institutions and strategic partners.
“The fair’s location in Nigeria’s capital city gives exhibitors a unique opportunity to engage with diverse audiences from across the country and beyond,” he said.
He added that the event also provides a dedicated platform for diplomatic missions and international organisations to showcase investment opportunities, technologies and development initiatives.
Prof. Adesugba further emphasized ACCI’s commitment to supporting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), acknowledging their vital role in job creation, innovation and national economic development.
He stated that through exhibitions, networking opportunities and market access initiatives, the fair continues to empower businesses and encourage sustainable growth.
“As Nigeria’s premier trade and investment gathering in the Federal Capital Territory, the Abuja International Trade Fair remains a powerful catalyst for economic development, regional integration and business expansion,” he said.
The ACCI Deputy President therefore invited exhibitors, sponsors, investors, development partners, government agencies, diplomatic missions and members of the public to participate in the landmark 21st edition and take advantage of the opportunities it offers.
Prof. Adesugba also commended media partners for their continued support in promoting the fair over the years and appealed for their cooperation in publicizing this year’s edition to businesses, investors, sponsors and the wider public.
