Fear in Benue After Gunmen Abduct Clergyman, Two Worshippers

A pastor with the NKST Church, Andyar, in Benue State, Rev. Dr. Samuel Gbinde, and two members of his congregation have been kidnapped by gunmen.

The incident was confirmed in a statement issued by the NKST General Secretary, Dr. T.A. Agba, and made available to journalists in Makurdi on Wednesday.
According to Dr. Agba, the pastor and the two church members were abducted on June 30, 2026, from the pastor’s residence.
As of the time this report was filed, the Benue State Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Udeme Edet, could not be reached for comments on the incident.
