BREAKING: Blessing Okoh Condemns Killings in Akpachi-Ugboju and Otukpo Nobi, Demands Urgent Security Intervention

According to eyewitness accounts cited in her statement, the attacks were allegedly carried out by suspected Fulani militia. She said the first incident occurred on Tuesday in Akpachi-Ugboju, where two residents were reportedly killed, while the second attack took place on Wednesday morning in Otukpo Nobi, leaving more than six people dead.
She added that several others sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at the Federal University of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital, Otukpo.
Describing the attacks as “wicked, inhuman and a grave violation of the people’s right to life and peaceful coexistence,” Okoh extended her condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.
“Every citizen deserves to live without fear. It is unacceptable that Zone C continues to witness these senseless killings,” she said.
Okoh called on the Benue State Government, the Federal Government and all security agencies to urgently deploy additional personnel to Otukpo Local Government Area and surrounding border communities to prevent further attacks. She also appealed for immediate humanitarian assistance and medical support for the injured and displaced victims.
“Our people are predominantly farmers. They should be able to cultivate their farms and return home safely without fear of attack,” she said.
She further urged residents to remain calm, stay vigilant and cooperate with security agencies, while reaffirming her commitment to advocating for the protection of lives, justice for victims and lasting peace across Adoka/Ugboju Constituency, Otukpo LGA and the entire Zone C.
She concluded with a prayer, asking God Almighty to protect the land and grant the people a leader who would restore peace and security.
