Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Thursday visited the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, in Abuja, where he presented his Certificate of Return to the minister.

The visit came shortly after Adeleke met with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had presented the Certificate of Return to Adeleke on Wednesday, formally recognising him as the winner of the August 15 governorship election.

Adeleke secured 511,067 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, came third with 17,180 votes.
Adeleke’s visit to Wike also came against the backdrop of the minister’s recent comments on the Osun election.
Wike had said he would have travelled to Osun State to campaign for Oyebamiji if President Tinubu had wanted the APC candidate to win the election “at all costs.”
The FCT minister made the comment while speaking with journalists in Abuja on Tuesday.
