Troops Disrupt Terror Networks, Rescue Victims, Recover Arms Nationwide

The Armed Forces of Nigeria says it will sustain the current tempo of operations against terrorism, kidnapping and other security threats across the country, in line with its Code of Conduct, Rules of Engagement and International Humanitarian Law.

This is contained in a statement by the Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Michael Onoja, on military operations conducted nationwide this week.

According to the statement, troops recorded significant successes across various theatres of operation, including the surrender of seventeen terrorist fighters and their family members in Borno State, as well as the arrest of suspected terrorists, informants and logistics suppliers.

It stated that troops also disrupted terrorist logistics networks, recovered weapons, ammunition and other supplies, rescued abducted victims and foiled kidnap attempts in different parts of the country.

The statement further noted that operations conducted across the North-East, North-West, North-Central, South-South and South-East resulted in the arrest of criminal collaborators and the recovery of arms and other exhibits.

It commended troops, other security agencies, the media and members of the public for their support, and urged citizens to continue providing timely and credible information to enhance ongoing security operations nationwide.
