Akpabio Hails Tinubu’s Leadership, Says Nigeria Yet to See His Best
The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing him as a leader with sight and vision.
Speaking on Friday night at the 2026 National Convention of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Akpabio stated that what is drawing more people to the party is the good governance being delivered by the Tinubu administration.
Addressing the President and party delegates at Eagle Square, he said: “What is attracting all of us to the APC today is good governance.
“From the removal of fuel subsidy to the harmonisation of multiple exchange rates, and reforms in the education sector, you have enabled even the poorest individuals in rural communities to access loans for tertiary education.
“You have initiated an agricultural revolution and revived rail transportation. Today, people can travel from Lagos to Ibadan and even to Ajaokuta. I personally experienced the coastal road project, which had been envisioned over 50 years ago in the Niger Delta region. May God bless you, your work, and the wisdom He has bestowed on you.
“In you, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, judging from your transformation of Lagos and several states across the federation, and your ability to build people, you are a man with sight and vision, and you are translating that vision to Nigeria. Mr President, Nigerians are yet to witness your best.
“Despite the challenging economy you inherited, you are turning things around. Your tax reforms and efforts have restored dignity to Nigeria. Your recent visit to the United Kingdom after 37 years clearly shows that Nigeria has regained its place on the global stage.
“For our party members, we have grown from about 18 states to 32 governors, and we are still expanding. By election day, we may reach 36 out of 36.”
Akpabio, who also serves as Chairman of the National Assembly, assured President Tinubu of continued legislative support and cooperation. He further reassured Nigerians that the current security challenges would soon be overcome.
“For those of us in the Legislature, Mr President, be assured of our unwavering support and cooperation. When the National Assembly is stable and aligned with your Renewed Hope Agenda, Nigeria will undoubtedly progress.
“As for insecurity, I want to assure Nigerians that the threats we see today will soon be a thing of the past. With the ingenuity of our President, and the support and prayers of all Nigerians, peace and stability will return. May God grant Nigeria peace and unity, and bless the APC family,” Akpabio said.
