Benue South 2027: David Olofu Launches Senatorial Campaign Office, Inaugurates Council …The time has come for a change — Ngbede

The senatorial aspirant for Benue South Senatorial District, Dr.
David Olofu, has officially launched his campaign headquarters in Otukpo, marking the commencement of his bid for the 2027 senatorial election.During the unveiling of the campaign office, located opposite Saint Francis Primary School in Otukpo, Dr. Olofu also constituted and inaugurated his campaign advisory council. Sir John Ngbede, a notable political figure, was named Chairman, while Honourable Chris Adaba Abah, popularly known as Mad Lion, was appointed Director-General.
Olofu, who is contesting under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stressed the urgent need for a new direction in leadership. He pledged to provide governance that is both responsive and sensitive to the needs and aspirations of the people.
“The people want results—positive results in governance that go beyond rhetoric to real impact, visible progress, and meaningful change in their daily lives,” he said.
He identified key challenges facing the Benue South Senatorial District, including insecurity, stalled development, and economic hardship, promising to place the welfare of the people above politics.
“We will build systems that create opportunities, drive growth, restore security, and deliver tangible development to every community,” he pledged.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the David Olofu Campaign Advisory Council, Sir John Ngbede, described the campaign as a movement aimed at advancing the interests of Idoma land, emphasizing that the time for change has come.
The advisory council comprises prominent individuals such as Sir John Ngbede, Hon. Goday Samuel, Prof. David Salifu, and Dr. David Olofu.
Other members include Chief Patrick Ogbu, Dr. Steve Onmeje, Hon. Hassan Saleh, Barr. Jacob Ogwuche, Group Capt. Steve Adah, Hon. Igbiri Idah, Engr. Okpe Onah, Rt. Hon. Samson Okwu, Prince Idikwu, Hon. Abeje Egwa, Ogirh Benjamin, Ijachi Ogwuche, Donald Agida, and Dr. Adakole Elijah, who serves as Secretary.
Stakeholders of the ADC also expressed strong support for Olofu’s candidacy, signaling a united front as the party prepares for the upcoming elections.
