ADC Primary Crisis Deepens As David Olofu Campaign Alleges Snatching Of Election Materials In Apa/Agatu
The David Olofu Campaign Council has condemned the alleged forceful snatching and diversion of electoral materials meant for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) primaries in Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency.
In a press release issued on May 21, 2026, and signed by the Secretary of the Campaign Council, Dr Friday Adakole Elijah, the council alleged that armed individuals and suspected thugs intercepted the vehicle conveying the party’s electoral materials alongside the Apa Local Government ADC Chairman, Hon. Sharon Adokpe.
According to the statement, the chairman was reportedly pushed out of the moving vehicle while the attackers fled with the electoral materials to an unknown destination.
The campaign council maintained that no valid primary election took place in Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency under the circumstances surrounding the incident.
It therefore called on the state and national leadership of the ADC to reject any result that may emerge from what it described as a disrupted process.
The council also appealed to the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant security agencies to launch an immediate investigation into the incident, arrest all individuals allegedly involved, and prevent the validation or circulation of any result linked to the exercise.
Furthermore, the campaign council demanded the disqualification of any beneficiary of the disputed process and insisted that all perpetrators be prosecuted in accordance with the law to protect the integrity of the party’s internal democratic process.
The David Olofu Campaign Council reiterated its commitment to a free, fair, and transparent contest, stating that it would continue to pursue all lawful means to ensure justice is served.
