BREAKING :APC Unveils Governorship Candidates for 2027 Elections Across Key States

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has continued its governorship primaries across several states ahead of the 2027 general elections, with many candidates already emerging through consensus arrangements and direct voting.

In Abia State, Eric Opah secured the APC governorship ticket after polling 126,977 votes to defeat Henry Ikoh, who garnered 5,905 votes.
In Adamawa State, the final outcome of the primary is yet to be officially declared, although Ahmed Galadima is currently leading.
Governor Umo Eno emerged as the APC governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom State through consensus.
The governorship primary in Bauchi State was postponed and is expected to continue today.
In Benue State, Governor Hyacinth Alia is leading by a wide margin and is expected to emerge victorious in the primary.
Borno State produced Mustapha Gubio as the APC candidate through consensus, while Governor Bassey Otu also emerged through consensus in Cross River State.
In Delta State, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori won the APC governorship ticket after polling 345,375 votes.
Governor Francis Nwifuru secured the APC ticket in Ebonyi State through consensus, while Governor Peter Mbah also emerged through consensus in Enugu State.
In Gombe State, Jamilu Gwamna won the APC primary with 247,161 votes, defeating Professor Isa Pantami, who polled 12,120 votes, and former Minister of Transportation Saidu Ahmed Alkali, who received 11,612 votes.
Governor Umar Namadi emerged through consensus in Jigawa State, while Governor Uba Sani won the Kaduna State APC primary after polling 459,393 votes.
Governor Abba Yusuf secured the APC ticket in Kano State through consensus, just as Governor Dikko Radda emerged in Katsina State through the same process.
Governor Nasir Idris also clinched the APC governorship ticket in Kebbi State through consensus.
The APC governorship primary in Kwara State was postponed and will continue today.
In Lagos State, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat emerged as the APC governorship candidate after polling 657,917 votes to defeat Lanre Kamal, who secured one vote.
Nasarawa State’s primary was also postponed and is expected to continue today.
Governor Umaru Bago emerged as the APC candidate in Niger State through consensus.
In Ogun State, Senator Solomon Adeola won the APC governorship primary with 304,055 votes, defeating Abayomi Hunye, who scored zero votes.
In Oyo State, the final result has not yet been officially announced, but Senator Sharafadeen Alli is reportedly leading the race.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang is currently leading in Plateau State and is expected to emerge as the APC governorship candidate.
In Rivers State, Ogundu Kingsley Chinda emerged as the APC candidate after polling 268,497 votes. He became the consensus choice after three aspirants, including Governor Siminalayi Fubara, withdrew from the contest.
Governor Ahmad Aliyu emerged through consensus in Sokoto State.
In Taraba State, Governor Agbu Kefas is reportedly leading with a wide margin and is expected to emerge victorious, while Baba Malam Wali is also leading comfortably in Yobe State.
Governor Dauda Lawal secured the APC governorship ticket in Zamfara State through consensus.
The APC did not conduct governorship primaries in Anambra, Bayelsa, Edo, Ekiti, Imo, Kogi, Ondo, and Osun states because they operate off-cycle election schedules.
