The incident reportedly occurred on May 22, 2026, when two masked men riding on a motorcycle arrived at the hotel premises and shot the victim at close range.
Community sources disclosed that the attackers moved straight toward Ngobe immediately after entering the hotel, raising suspicion that he was the specific target of the operation.
Residents also alleged that the gunmen confiscated mobile phones belonging to hotel workers and other individuals present at the scene to stop them from alerting security agencies or calling for help during the attack.
The killing has increased tension within the community, as residents expressed concern over the rising cases of violent attacks and targeted killings in parts of Rivers State.
