Village Circle

We live in a world full of paradoxes ,a world that gives reasons why something must be done, and at the same time offers another reason why it should not be done.

A world that condemns a man for climbing on a horse with his child to make their journey easier, yet still casts aspersions on the same man for walking beside the horse while it gallops unburdened.

Nothing suffices. Everything is questioned. Nothing appears perfect in the eyes of the world. Nothing satisfies; nothing satiates.

The best approach to dealing with the world is to act according to one’s conscience, do what gives inner peace, and never struggle to satisfy everybody. Attempting to appear good to all men may become an adventure in futility, if not living in an ivory tower.

The world is both a cheergiver and a snorting critic. It applauds openly when there is something heavy to gain, yet slanders behind closed doors. It runs with the hare and hunts with the hound.

As negatively as the Village Circle is sometimes portrayed, one cannot completely run away from it. From East to West, North to South, no place diminishes the importance of the Village Circle.

The good, the bad, and the ugly all thrive there. Wisdom, however, remains the only thing that helps one pass through it without being hurt, smeared, or dismembered by its crucibles.

It is in the Village Circle that history is told, knowledge is shared, and hidden foundations are brought to light. No family history is spared there.

The paternal roots of every child are known. Those with questionable paternity are discussed in hushed tones — to the hearing of everyone except the supposed victims.

If you live far from home and rarely visit, try to return occasionally, however sparingly. Do not visit and leave without spending time around the Village Circle.

It helps, especially when one engages with wisdom, inspiration, and a discerning mind. The truth is that no one is thrown from heaven. One’s roots are not choices to be made, but realities to be accepted.

Nature made it so. Riches, knowledge, influence, and fame, without healthy integration into the Village Circle, can leave one feeling empty — like a fish out of water.

It is within this Village Circle that the history of individuals is unbundled when spirits are high and minds inspired by liquids that make the eyes see farther and the mind thinks deeper. In such an atmosphere, stories are told, information divulged, and secrets revealed.

Get close to the Village Circle, but do so with a discerning mind, lest you become consumed by a fire never meant for you. In the Village Circle, all manner of people are there, coexisting and managing their situations. However less privileged one thinks many of them seem, never throw it at their faces. If you do, they would say to you what would cause you nights of sleeplessness. Just flow with them, trying to roar like a lion, when everyone bleats, sets one apart for secret maligning and snorting in a manner never imagined.

To the politicians, make your engagement with your Village Circle one that isn’t orchestrated by political timing rather one that is in and out of season. If the former becomes your strategy, your money they would eat but their votes to the one that seems at home with them.

Umunna is a waist pain ( Oria Ukwu) , a bug perched on a scrotum, it takes wisdom to manage. Hit it, the bud dies with a colossal damage on the scrotum. Leave it, the blood is sucked dried. In all these, wisdom comes to play.
