Wadada Emerges Nasarawa APC Governorship Candidate for 2027

Senator Ahmed Wadada, who represents Nasarawa West Senatorial District, has emerged as the winner of the All Progressives Congress governorship primary election in Nasarawa State.

The Chairman of the APC Governorship Primary Election Committee in the state, Prof. Theodore Maiyaki, announced the outcome of the exercise on Friday in Lafia.
Maiyaki stated that Wadada secured the highest number of valid votes cast by party members across the 147 electoral wards in the 13 local government areas of the state, defeating six other aspirants in the race.
According to him, Wadada polled a total of 195,285 votes to emerge as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
He said other aspirants scored as follows: Tanimu Adabson received 65 votes; Dr Fatima Abdullahi-Adamu garnered 246 votes; Dr Hassan Liman polled 863 votes; while Dr Zakka Yakubu secured 336 votes.
Others are Prof. Mohamed Sani-Haruna, who scored 5,844 votes, and former Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Adamu, who polled 39,675 votes.
Maiyaki explained that the committee supervised the accreditation process and ensured transparency during the collation of results.
He added that, having fulfilled the requirements of the APC constitution and electoral guidelines, Wadada was officially declared winner and returned as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 governorship election in the state. (NAN)
