Curfew alert: Oyo restricts movement in 10 LGAs bordering Old Oyo National Park.

Governor Seyi Makinde has declared a 16-hour curfew across 10 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Oyo State.


According to a memo issued in Ibadan on Tuesday evening by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Musibau Babatunde, the curfew will take effect from Wednesday.
The restriction, which runs from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., is expected to remain in force for an initial period of two days.
The affected LGAs are located along the border of the Old Oyo National Park.
They include Oriire LGA (Ikoyi-Ile), Orelope LGA (Igboho), Irepo LGA (Kisi), Saki West LGA (Saki), and Saki East LGA (Ago-Amodu).
Others are Atisbo LGA (Tede/Ago-Are), Itesiwaju LGA (Otu), Iseyin LGA (Iseyin), Olorunsogo LGA (Igbeti), and Atiba LGA (Offa-Meta, Oyo town).
The state government said the curfew will commence on Wednesday and remain in effect for two days in the first instance. (NAN).
