Kudos to the youths of Ohafia, Abia State.

Bandits reportedly kidnapped two young girls and demanded ₦20 million ransom, ₦10 million for each of them.

What happened next is what many Nigerians are shocked about.

The youths of Ohafia did not wait for the governor.

They did not wait for politicians. They did not wait for anybody.
They organized themselves, went into the bush, rescued their two sisters, and apprehended some of the suspected kidnappers.

The most important thing is that the girls were brought back alive.

Surprisingly, this story did not make major headlines across the country. Yet, it is one of those stories that shows the courage, unity, and determination that still exist in our communities.

The people of Ohafia stood up for their own when it mattered most.

Whether this is the direction communities should take in the face of growing insecurity is a conversation Nigerians must have.

One thing is certain: the youths of Ohafia have shown courage that many people will not forget.

Kudos to Ohafia. Kudos to Abia State. Kudos to Igbo youths.

Finally the news is here.
