Dangote offers ₦500,000 reward to expose illegal haulage

Dangote Industries Limited has intensified efforts to curb illegal haulage activities involving its trucks by introducing a public whistleblower initiative with a cash reward of ₦500,000 for anyone who provides credible information leading to the arrest of offenders or the interception of unauthorized goods and transportation of persons.
The company said the initiative is part of its broader commitment to protect the integrity of its logistics operations and eliminate the activities of individuals who illegally use Dangote-branded trucks to transport unauthorized goods. It explained that whistleblowers whose information results in successful enforcement action will receive the ₦500,000 reward.
In a statement issued in Lagos, the company urged members of the public to report any suspected cases of illegal haulage involving Dangote trucks. It stressed that only approved products are permitted to be transported by trucks belonging to its subsidiaries. According to the company, Dangote Cement trucks are authorized to carry only cement, limestone, high-grade gypsum, coal and clinker, while Dangote Sugar Refinery trucks are restricted to sugar products. NASCON Allied Industries trucks are designated for Dangote Salt and DanQ Seasoning products, Dangote Packaging trucks for bags and packaging materials, Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals trucks for polypropylene products, and Dangote Fertiliser Limited vehicles for urea fertilizer.
The company warned that any Dangote truck found conveying unauthorized goods would be treated as engaging in illegal haulage. It added that drivers and owners of such goods risk arrest, confiscation of the cargo and prosecution under applicable laws. It emphasized that anyone with verifiable information leading to the arrest of offenders or the recovery of unauthorized goods transported on Dangote trucks would receive the ₦500,000 cash reward.
To support investigations, Dangote advised whistleblowers to provide details such as the truck type, registration plate number, cab number, location, description of the goods, colour of the truck and photographs of the vehicle and cargo where possible. The company has also established dedicated hotlines across its operations to receive reports, particularly for trucks operating from the Obajana, Okpella and Gboko plants.
Dangote further disclosed that law enforcement agencies, including the Police, have been authorized to arrest any driver using company trucks for unauthorized commercial haulage. Reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy against logistics-related fraud, the company called on the public to support efforts to safeguard legitimate business operations by exposing illegal operators.
The company maintained that the whistleblower initiative is aimed at protecting its assets and operations while promoting transparency, accountability and compliance across its nationwide logistics network. It added that public cooperation remains essential in eliminating illegal haulage activities and assured that all reports would contribute to protecting the Dangote brand, promoting lawful business practices and ensuring that offenders are brought to justice.
