Stable outlook, trusted quality, bigger portfolio — MeCure strengthens its market position in H1 2026.
MeCure Industries Plc Closes H1 2026 with Stable BBB GCR Outlook, Halal Certification, and New Product Launches
Lagos, Nigeria — July 2026 — MeCure Industries Plc ended the first half of 2026 on a positive note, following the affirmation of its national scale issuer ratings by GCR Ratings, the award of Halal certification, and the introduction of two new products.
GCR Ratings affirmed MeCure Industries Plc’s long-term issuer rating at BBB(NG) and its short-term issuer rating at A3(NG), while revising the company’s long-term outlook to Stable. According to the rating agency, the affirmation was driven by improvements in MeCure’s competitive position, solid earnings performance, continued expansion, product innovation, and broader market penetration.
GCR also highlighted the company’s diversified portfolio of more than 140 formulations across five therapeutic classes, its extensive distribution network, and its strong relationships with suppliers and technical partners.
During the period, MeCure also secured Halal certification, reinforcing its commitment to quality, regulatory compliance, and broader consumer accessibility. For consumers, the certification confirms that the certified products have been assessed to ensure their ingredients, sourcing, handling, and manufacturing processes comply with recognised Halal requirements.
In practical terms, the certification provides Muslim consumers with greater confidence that the medicines they use are permissible, while offering an added level of assurance regarding transparency, product integrity, and manufacturing standards.
The certification is also expected to strengthen trust among customers, healthcare professionals, distributors, and institutional partners, while enhancing MeCure’s position in markets where Halal-compliant products are a key consideration.
In June 2026, MeCure expanded its product portfolio with the launch of Fluconazole Capsules and EBU Suspension. The Fluconazole Capsules broaden the company’s antifungal product range, while EBU Suspension, an ibuprofen oral suspension, strengthens its paediatric and family healthcare offerings.
The new product launches reflect MeCure’s continued commitment to providing affordable, locally manufactured medicines that address key therapeutic needs.
As the company moves into the second half of 2026, MeCure said it remains committed to strengthening local manufacturing, improving access to quality medicines, expanding its product pipeline, and delivering sustainable value to shareholders.
