Eid-ul-Mawlid: NCPC Boss Calls for Peace, Unity, Prayers Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Prof. Stephen Adegbite, has called on Muslims to use the occasion of Eid-ul-Mawlid to promote peace, unity and national harmony.

Bishop Adegbite, in a goodwill message issued in Abuja on Monday, August 24, 2026, congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and across the diaspora on the celebration marking the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

The message was signed by the NCPC Director of Media and Public Relations, Celestine Toruka.

The NCPC boss urged Muslim faithful to reflect on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad and emulate his virtues.

He encouraged them to use the occasion for spiritual reflection and self-examination, while avoiding actions that contradict the teachings and values of the Prophet.

Bishop Adegbite described Prophet Muhammad as a model for humanity and urged Muslims to deepen their understanding of his teachings and the values he represented.

As Nigeria approaches the 2027 general elections, the NCPC Executive Secretary appealed to Muslims to continue praying for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other leaders of the country.

He expressed optimism that the elections would be peaceful and that the will of God would prevail.

Bishop Adegbite also urged Muslim clerics to continue providing responsible spiritual guidance to their followers and promote peaceful conduct in their communities.

He called on the Muslim faithful to uphold peace, love, dialogue, harmony and patriotism, stressing that these values remain essential to Nigeria’s unity and development.

The NCPC boss wished Muslims a peaceful and spiritually rewarding Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration.
