SDP Women Hail Adebayo’s INEC Presidential Candidate Recognition
The National Speaker of the Women Parliament of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Ambassador Hajiya Sa’adatu Abdullahi, says the publication of Prince Adewole Adebayo’s name by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the party’s presidential candidate has reinforced the SDP’s readiness to offer Nigerians a credible alternative in the forthcoming presidential election.
In a statement signed by her in Abuja, describes the development as a significant milestone for the party, saying it reflects the commitment of the National Working Committee (NWC) and strengthens confidence in the party’s leadership and internal democratic process.
The statement says the official publication of the party’s presidential ticket, comprising Prince Adewole Adebayo and his running mate, Dr. Usman Mohammed Bugaje, underscores the SDP’s preparedness to present Nigerians with leadership founded on good governance, social justice, economic prosperity and the rule of law.
According to her, the party remains convinced that Adebayo possesses the character, competence and vision required to address the nation’s challenges and provide purposeful leadership capable of driving national renewal.
It also commends the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting the nomination process in line with the principles of fairness, transparency and due process.
The statement notes that the growing acceptance of the SDP across the country reflects Nigerians’ desire for a credible political alternative committed to integrity, inclusiveness and people-centred governance.
It calls on women, youths, party members and supporters to remain united and intensify grassroots mobilisation as the election approaches.
According to the statement, Abdullahi urges them to promote issue-based campaigns and effectively communicate the SDP’s vision for a peaceful, prosperous and inclusive Nigeria.
The SDP Women Parliament Speaker also appeals to Nigerians to pray for Prince Adebayo, asking God to grant him wisdom, strength, good health and divine guidance as he prepares for the task ahead.
The statement reaffirms the commitment of the SDP Women Parliament to mobilising women across the country in support of the party’s programmes and its presidential ticket ahead of the election.
