Woro Rescue: Northern Senators Praise Kwara, Seek Lasting Peace
The Northern Senators Forum (NSF) has congratulated the Kwara State Government, the people of the state, and residents of Woro Community over the safe release of victims abducted during the recent kidnapping incident in the area.
In a statement issued on Thursday by its Chairman, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua, the Forum, speaking on behalf of senators from the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), commended the bravery, professionalism and coordinated efforts of the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Army and local vigilantes. It noted that the successful rescue operation demonstrated the effectiveness of strong collaboration among security agencies backed by timely intelligence from local communities.
The Forum also applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing the political will and necessary support that strengthened the operations of the security agencies. According to the statement, the swift federal intervention played a crucial role in securing the victims’ release without harm.
While celebrating the successful rescue, the Forum expressed sympathy to the families of those who lost their lives during the incident, praying for the peaceful repose of the deceased and strength for their loved ones. It urged the Federal Government and the Kwara State Government to provide adequate support to the bereaved families, while calling on Nigerians to continue assisting security agencies with credible information to enhance the fight against insecurity. The Forum also prayed for lasting peace in Woro Community and across Northern Nigeria
