2027 Elections: NSCDC FCT Command Begins 10km Route March to Boost Personnel Fitness
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, has intensified efforts to improve personnel fitness and operational efficiency through a 10km route march in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
Flagging off the exercise at the Command Headquarters, the FCT Commandant, Dr Olusola Odumosu, said regular physical exercise was vital to ensuring that officers remained fit, particularly as the 2027 general elections approached.
The FCT NSCDC boss stated that personnel fitness and readiness remained essential ahead of the 2027 elections, when officers would be required to support peaceful electoral processes and protect lives and property.
According to him, regular physical fitness was central to operational efficiency, as it enables personnel to respond effectively to security threats.

He stressed that physical and mental fitness would ensure the effective protection of all Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI).
Dr Odumosu, who maintained that the exercise was also designed to promote teamwork, mental alertness and discipline while boosting personnel morale and operational capacity, said only an officer who was physically and mentally fit could pursue a criminal and succeed.

He stressed that the command remained committed to ensuring that its officers were prepared to discharge their responsibilities whenever called upon.
The commandant further revealed that the corps had intensified its security operations across the FCT, including round-the-clock patrols aimed at curbing vandalism and other criminal activities.
