2027: Makinde Vows to Reset Nigeria, Tackle Insecurity and Poverty
By Our Reporter
The Allied People’s Movement (APM) presidential candidate and Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has promised to initiate a four-year Transitional Government of National Unity (TGNU) during his first term in office as Nigeria’s President.
The new policy, he said, will devolve powers in all areas to accommodate security, infrastructural and economic development across the country’s six geopolitical zones.
He made this known during a town hall meeting on Saturday in Yola, Adamawa State, at the launch of the party’s programmes under its Reset Agenda.

Makinde expressed concern over the nation’s security challenges, poverty caused by what he described as wrong pricing of petroleum products, and erratic electricity supply. He promised to address these challenges in May 2027.
While assuring the people of the region of transparent leadership, he criticised what he described as the politics of lies and deceit perpetrated by the present administration over the last three years.

Governor Makinde said the northern part of the country and Nigeria at large had suffered considerably under the alleged maladministration of the Bola Tinubu-led administration, which he accused of engaging in naked lies and deceitful tendencies. He stated that the APM’s Reset Agenda would address these anomalies.
“The present administration, according to the presidential candidate, has failed in the electricity sector, which he promised to improve within four years.”
Governor Seyi Makinde assured Nigerians that the blueprint and manifesto of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), designed to Reset Nigeria under his administration, would address the prevailing challenges.
Makinde maintained that the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) initiative introduced by the present administration had created more problems and brought back long queues at filling stations.
“The insincerity, lies, deceit and empty promises of the present administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have reached their zenith.”
He reassured the people of the North East of improved government policies and programmes across all sectors, including moderated petroleum prices, stable electricity supply and robust Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) programmes to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians.
Governor Makinde thanked the government and people of Adamawa State for their warm reception, understanding and support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
