Independence: NCPC Boss Urges Nigerians To Unite, Pray For Peaceful 2027 Polls
The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Prof. Stephen Adegbite, has urged Nigerians to unite behind efforts to move the country forward and pray for the peaceful conduct of the 2027 general elections.
Adegbite made the call in an Independence Day message issued in Abuja on Wednesday to commemorate Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
The NCPC boss congratulated Nigerians and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the anniversary, describing the country’s 66 years of self-rule since October 1, 1960, as a significant milestone.
He said Nigeria had every reason to thank God for sustaining the nation through the challenges of nationhood, while commending citizens for their patience, resilience, perseverance and determination.

Adegbite also commended Tinubu for what he described as quality leadership, urging the President to remain focused in addressing the country’s challenges.
According to him, although Nigeria is still confronted by numerous difficulties, he remained optimistic that the challenges would be overcome.

He called on Nigerians to support efforts aimed at national development, stressing the need for collective responsibility in building a stronger country.
The NCPC Executive Secretary also appealed to Nigerians to pray for peace and a successful 2027 general election, expressing confidence that God’s will would prevail.
Adegbite further urged Nigerians living abroad to continue contributing to the development of the country and participate in what he described as ongoing efforts to re-engineer the Nigerian economy.

He congratulated Nigerians for witnessing the 66th Independence Anniversary and wished citizens at home and in the Diaspora a peaceful and prosperous celebration.
