Study in Ireland: Applications Open for Fully Funded Master’s Programme

The Embassy of Ireland in Nigeria has announced the opening of applications for the 2026 Ireland Fellows Programme, offering eligible Nigerians the opportunity to pursue fully funded Master’s degree programmes in Ireland.

The scholarship programme is designed for early and mid-career professionals from Nigeria and Ghana who wish to undertake a one-year Master’s degree at selected higher institutions across Ireland.
According to the embassy, applications will officially open on June 29, 2026, through the Ireland Fellows Programme portal. Interested candidates are expected to complete and submit their applications before the deadline.
To be eligible, applicants must be citizens and residents of Nigeria or Ghana, possess a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower honours, and have at least three years of relevant professional work experience.
The embassy also disclosed that Nigerian applicants may apply for the Roger Casement Fellowship in Human Rights, which supports Master’s degree programmes in Law, Human Rights and Governance.
Successful applicants will receive a comprehensive scholarship package covering tuition fees, monthly living allowance, accommodation support, return airfare, visa costs and health insurance.
Applications will close on July 26, 2026, and prospective candidates have been advised to submit their applications early.
The Ireland Fellows Programme is aimed at strengthening professional capacity, promoting academic excellence and deepening cooperation between Ireland and its partner countries through education and leadership development.
