Tinubu Approves 3,252 PTA Teachers for Unity Colleges

President Bola Tinubu has approved the recruitment of 3,252 Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) teachers into Federal Unity Colleges as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s education sector.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Mr. Ikharo Attah. He said the approval represents a major step by the Tinubu Administration to address the longstanding shortage of teachers in Federal Unity Colleges.
Dr. Alausa explained that the recruitment will improve the teacher-student ratio in the colleges while recognising the dedication of PTA teachers who have continued to support quality education despite years of uncertainty.
According to the minister, the approval followed a comprehensive verification exercise conducted by an Inter-Ministerial Committee, which verified 3,252 teachers across the cadres of Education Officers, Assistant Education Officers and Technical Instructors.
