G-100, Reps Minority Caucus Push for Stronger Opposition

The Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives has pledged to work with the socio-political group, G-100, to build a stronger and coordinated opposition ahead of the 2027 general election.

Minority Leader, Mr Frederick Agbedi, made the commitment in Abuja when the caucus met with members of G-100 at the National Assembly Complex. He explained that the partnership would strengthen democracy and promote cooperation among opposition parties.
Mr Agbedi urged political parties, opposition leaders and presidential candidates to set aside personal ambitions and work towards a united front to face the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2027.
The Minority Leader, however, said the partnership was not necessarily aimed at producing a single opposition candidate, but at encouraging cooperation among opposition parties in the interest of the nation.

Earlier, leader of the G-100 delegation, Salihu Lukman, said the group was working to unite opposition parties into a formidable political force capable of challenging the APC in 2027.

Mr Lukman said many Nigerians and stakeholders had expressed willingness to support the movement, noting that the opposition leaders’ National Summit was postponed because of their engagement with the National Peace Accord Committee.
