Several credible sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed that the gunmen stormed the village, firing sporadically and triggering panic across the area.
One resident was kidnapped and taken to an undisclosed location.
Three other residents suffered serious gunshot wounds during the incident.
The injured victims — Mr. Josiah Abashiya, 53; Mrs. Josiah Hadiza, 41; and Mr. Daniel Kwanaki, 47 — were rushed to a medical facility that was not disclosed, where they are currently receiving treatment.
Earlier on Monday, terrorists had also attacked Kallah community in Kallah Ward of the same local government area, abducting 13 residents.
Those taken were identified as Audu Obaina, Talatu Audu, Friday Audu, Beauty Friday, Jerry Audu, Jonah Philemon, Jumare Philemon, Juliet Philemon, Joel Philemon, Baby Philemon, Ephraimu Diwa and Esther Ephraimu.
In addition, one Diwa Makama sustained injuries during the Kallah attack and is reportedly undergoing medical treatment.
Residents of Maro and Kallah wards lamented the recurring attacks, saying communities across Kajuru LGA continue to live in fear as assaults persist.
They appealed to security agencies and the Kaduna State Government to intensify measures aimed at safeguarding lives and property in the area.
A security source hinted that the prompt intervention of nearby security operatives helped to limit the scale of Tuesday’s attack.
As at the time of filing this report, neither the Kaduna State Police Command nor the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs had issued any official statement regarding the incidents. (The Sun)
