A political group, the Renewed Hope Interfaith Movement Nigeria, has registered over 200 support groups in Benue State to mobilise support for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Rev.

Fr. Hyacinth Alia in the 2027 general elections.
The National Director of the Movement, who also serves as Director of the North Central Amalgamated Forum for President Tinubu, disclosed this after a meeting with various Tinubu support groups in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, on Tuesday.
He stated that the exercise was aimed at officially registering and accrediting support groups for the Tinubu/Alia project in the state, noting that they were being integrated into the Amalgamated Support Group for Tinubu/Alia in Benue.
According to him, the mission of the group is centred on “work and victory,” emphasising that members are committed to ensuring the successful return of both President Tinubu and Governor Alia in 2027.
He further revealed that more groups were expected to register by Wednesday, April 8, 2026, adding that over 200 groups had already been captured in the exercise.
Addressing the executives of the support groups, King Samuel urged them to see themselves as policymakers, stressing that politics is about shaping policies that impact lives. He encouraged them to take pride in their roles within the movement.
He also called on them to support all members of the renewed hope family in the state, expressing confidence that both Tinubu and Alia would secure victory in the 2027 elections.
Describing the initiative as result-oriented, he assured participants that, unlike previous political engagements, their efforts would yield tangible outcomes. He urged them to remain committed to productive campaigns that would guarantee success.
The National Director also reminded members of the forthcoming Tinubu/Alia Solidarity March scheduled for April 20, 2026, advising group leaders to mobilise their members for what he described as a “capacity show.” He maintained that the achievements of both leaders have brought visible progress to Nigeria and Benue State.
Earlier, the State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Interfaith Movement, Bishop Mike Angou, explained that the gathering was designed to build interfaith support for the reelection of President Tinubu, Governor Alia, and other APC candidates in the state.
Represented by the Coordinator of the Muslim Directorate, Alhaji Baba Ahmed, Angou said the movement was working with Imams, Christian leaders, and Islamic scholars to mobilise support for a planned one million-man march, expressing optimism about its success.
He noted the growing interest among support groups across local governments, adding that proper screening processes were in place to verify their credentials before registration.
Baba Ahmed stated that both the President and the Governor have performed well and deserve another opportunity to consolidate on their achievements.
He also commended the National Director for introducing an interfaith political initiative in Benue, describing it as a historic development in the state’s 50-year history.
“We are not here to compete as Christians and Muslims but to work together for the progress of Benue and Nigeria,” he said.
In their separate remarks, the Coordinator of the Christian Directorate, Paul Ochomma, and women leaders of the movement, Evangelist Rita Aato and Hajia Rabi Tijanni, urged members to fully commit to the project. They also called for increased participation of women, pledging to mobilise across the state to ensure the success of the Tinubu/Alia reelection bid in 2027.
