UTME 2026: Candidates Can Now Check First-Day Results via SMS — JAMB

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of 632,788 candidates who participated in the first day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The Board stated that candidates who sat for the examination on Thursday, April 16, 2026, can now access their results through its official SMS platform.
To check their scores, candidates are required to send UTMERESULT via SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number (SIM) used during registration. JAMB noted that, for now, candidates can only view their results, as the option to print them has not yet been enabled.
The Board also issued a stern warning against any attempt to manipulate or falsify results obtained through official channels. It emphasized that altering SMS results or using electronic tools, including artificial intelligence, to generate fake scores constitutes a serious criminal offence.
According to the statement, two candidates and one parent have already been taken into custody for allegedly engaging in result manipulation.
JAMB stressed that anyone found guilty of such acts will face the full weight of the law, reiterating that it treats examination malpractice with the utmost seriousness.
“The examination is ongoing, and results will continue to be released as they become available,” the statement added.
