The Osun State Government has disclosed that the son of Governor Ademola Adeleke, popular singer B-Red, narrowly escaped what authorities described as an “assassination attempt” in Osogbo.

In a statement dated April 30, 2026, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, revealed that the incident occurred at about 3:30pm on Wednesday at Oke-Fia, close to the Government House.
According to the commissioner, the attack was allegedly carried out by hoodlums believed to be led by an individual identified as Asiri Eniba.
B-Red, whose real name is Adebayo Adeleke, recounted that he was driving near Alekuwodo Market when the situation unfolded.
He said, “As I went out to buy some stuff around Alekuwodo market, I suddenly noticed some Okada riders wearing AMBO caps attempting to surround my vehicle at a traffic point under Okefia Bridge. As we tried to move away, we saw a white Toyota Venza approaching with shouts of ‘It is him! It is him!’”
He explained that the incident escalated into a pursuit.
“As we moved, the Toyota Venza chased us, attempting to block my jeep, while several motorcycles joined in the pursuit. The chase continued until we reached the gate of the Osun State Government House, Oke-Fia.
“We identified one of the occupants of the vehicle as Asiri Eniba, a notorious APC thug.”
The state government confirmed that the incident has been reported to the police.
Alimi described the development as an “assassination attempt” and urged security agencies to act swiftly.
He called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the suspect.
