Soldiers and police operatives shot dead a suspected kidnapper on Thursday night after a seven-man gang stormed the Army Post Service Housing Estate in Kurudu, AMAC, firing sporadically.

The attackers invaded the estate at about 8:47 p.m., prompting an immediate response from troops stationed at the entrance gate, alongside officers from the Kurudu Police Division.
A resident living close to the estate, Michael Moses, said the combined security team engaged the gunmen in a shootout and successfully foiled an attempt to abduct a business tycoon residing in the estate.
“The military and the police successfully stopped them. One of the kidnappers was killed,” Moses was quoted as saying in a phone interview with Daily Trust.
He added that the police later evacuated the body of the suspect.
Confirming the incident, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said in a text message that the command has commenced an investigation into the attack.
