VetKonect Limited has entered into a strategic partnership with Dubai-based NovaVet Family to expand the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in veterinary practices across Nigeria.

The partnership was announced on Tuesday in Makurdi by the Founder of VetKonect Limited, Dr. Shadrach Akpem, alongside the Global Commercial Operations Director of NovaVet Family, Ms. Kaiya Mcnellie.
According to both organisations, the collaboration is focused on integrating advanced AI-driven solutions into veterinary services through the deployment of VetifyPro, a clinical decision-support tool developed to enhance professional efficiency and improve patient outcomes.
The companies noted that the partnership comes at a time when Nigeria’s livestock and pet sectors are experiencing growing demand for modern, technology-driven healthcare solutions.
They explained that VetifyPro equips veterinarians with real-time, evidence-based recommendations by analysing patient history, physical examinations, and diagnostic results.
According to them, the tool is designed to integrate smoothly into existing veterinary workflows, enabling professionals to reduce decision-making time and improve diagnostic accuracy.
They added that the innovation would boost confidence in managing complex medical cases through data-driven support systems.
Speaking on the development, Akpem said the initiative aligns with VetKonect’s broader vision of modernising veterinary practice across Africa.
“This partnership aligns with our vision of making bold investments in the future of the veterinary profession across Africa.
“By integrating AI into daily practice, we are significantly improving the clinical proficiency of veterinarians and building greater client trust through improved health outcomes,” he said.
Akpem described the initiative as a new frontier for animal healthcare in Africa, adding that Nigerian veterinarians are increasingly embracing technology in service delivery.
He further stated that the collaboration represents a major step toward modernising the livestock value chain and positioning Nigerian veterinary clinics at the forefront of global veterinary medicine.
Also speaking, Mcnellie said NovaVet Family remains committed to empowering veterinary professionals with innovative digital tools.
“At NovaVet Family, we are committed to equipping animal health professionals with the tools of tomorrow.
“Partnering with VetKonect allows us to bring our clinical expertise and AI innovation to one of Africa’s most dynamic markets, ensuring veterinarians have the support they need to thrive,” she said.
VetKonect Limited is a digital animal health company dedicated to promoting modernisation and quality assurance within Nigeria’s veterinary and livestock sectors.
