There was tension at a clinic in Umuahia on Friday after Nollywood actress and 2027 Abia State governorship aspirant Doris Ogala reportedly collapsed while undergoing a medical consultation and was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Umuahia.

A video circulating on social media captured the moment the actress slumped while speaking with medical personnel. She was subsequently moved to FMC Umuahia, where doctors attended to her and worked to stabilise her condition.
Hours after the incident, Ogala addressed her followers from her hospital bed. Sharing a photograph of herself in a wheelchair at the medical facility via Instagram, she disclosed that she had briefly lost consciousness but had since regained stability.
“I was rushed to FMC Umuahia. I lost consciousness. Glory to God I am stabilised now,” she wrote.
Despite still recuperating, the actress-turned-politician was later seen interacting with patients and healthcare workers at the hospital. Although visibly weak, she appeared composed and responsive.
The incident occurred only weeks after Ogala emerged as the African Action Congress (AAC) candidate for the 2027 Abia governorship election, where she is expected to challenge incumbent Governor Alex Otti. Her campaign has focused on people-oriented governance, economic development and job creation across the state.
News of her hospitalisation quickly attracted reactions online, with supporters and admirers sending prayers and goodwill messages for her speedy recovery. Many expressed relief after learning that her condition had been stabilised.
For now, Ogala remains under medical observation at FMC Umuahia as doctors continue to monitor her health.
