WAEC Result Sparks Fresh Davido-Okpebholo Political Clash

Afrobeats star Davido has defended his uncle and Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, following remarks made by Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo during an APC governorship campaign rally in Osun State.

Speaking at the rally in support of the APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as “Ambo,” Governor Okpebholo criticised Adeleke’s frequent dancing, saying it reflected poor leadership and distracted him from governance. He also linked Adeleke to former Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki and urged voters to reject both leaders.
Davido, who was in Osun for the final phase of Governor Adeleke’s re-election campaign, responded shortly after the rally by posting an old WAEC result allegedly belonging to Governor Okpebholo on his Instagram page. The document, which has circulated online previously, reportedly showed the Edo governor passed only one subject out of seven. The post was widely interpreted as a response to Okpebholo’s comments about Adeleke.
The exchange has since sparked widespread reactions across social media, with supporters and critics of both Davido and Governor Okpebholo sharing mixed opinions as political activities intensify ahead of the Osun governorship election.
