China To Host 2026 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit In November

The World Internet Conference Organisation has unveiled details of the 2026 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, scheduled to hold from November 2 to 5 in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province, China.

The organisation disclosed this during a press conference for international media in Beijing on September 29, outlining key programmes and emerging issues to be discussed at the global technology gathering.

The summit, themed “Openness and Collaboration: Working Together to Build a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace,” will feature an opening ceremony, a main forum and 27 sub-forums focusing on global internet governance, artificial intelligence cooperation, robotics, intelligent technologies, global innovation and green digital development.

A major feature of the summit will be the Wuzhen Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence, which will bring together representatives of leading technology companies, open-source AI developers and AI scientists to examine the development of a global open-source AI ecosystem. Research on AI safety and governance is also expected to be released during the event.

Other programmes will include the Light of Internet Expo, the “Straight to Wuzhen” Global Internet Competition, the World Internet Conference Leading Science and Technology Award, the Outstanding Contribution Award, as well as programmes aimed at supporting young and emerging internet talents.

The summit is organised by the World Internet Conference and hosted by the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, with support from international organisations including the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the World Intellectual Property Organisation and the GSMA.

Speaking during the press conference, World Internet Conference Secretary-General Ren Xianliang joined officials including Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee member Li Yanyi, Tongxiang Party Executive Deputy Secretary-General Liang Hao and Tongxiang Party Secretary Wang Jian.

During a question-and-answer session, international journalists sought details about new features of this year’s summit, with organisers highlighting the Light of Internet Expo as a platform that will demonstrate the integration of internet technologies and artificial intelligence.
