Tragedy in Benue as Three APC Youth Leaders Die in Fatal Auto Crash
Three youth leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State have lost their lives in a motor accident.
The tragic incident occurred while the trio were on their way to Lafia in Nasarawa State to attend the party’s North Central Zonal Congress held on Wednesday. The fatal crash happened along the Makurdi–Lafia federal road.
The victims have been identified as Anawo Benjamin of Orokam Ward III, Ogbe Enemari of Ai-oono Ward III, and Abraham Enenche of Olachagbaha Ward.
They were confirmed dead at the scene of the accident, while several other members of the delegation sustained varying degrees of injuries and are currently receiving treatment.
Reacting to the incident, the APC Benue South Senatorial candidate in the 2023 general elections, Comrade Daniel Onjeh, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing it as a heartbreaking tragedy.
He noted that the deceased were dedicated grassroots politicians whose loyalty and commitment greatly contributed to the growth of the party.
Onjeh extended his condolences to the bereaved families as well as the APC family in Ogbadibo and Benue State, praying for strength for them to bear the painful loss. He also called for unity among party members during this difficult period and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.
Meanwhile, the Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Dr. Abba Moro, also sympathised with the families of the victims.
He described the incident as traumatic and devastating, especially as multiple lives were lost from the same local government area at once.
The senator further extended his condolences to the people of Ogbadibo, friends, and political associates of the deceased, praying for the repose of their souls and divine comfort for those left behind. He also wished the injured a quick recovery.
