Good Friday: Reverend Deji Oyelami Wants Christians To Renew Their Commitment To Holiness
The Minister in charge of First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada Abuja, Reverend Deji Oyelami has called on christians to use this year’s Good Friday in renewing their commitment to holiness, obedience and service to God.
Reverend Oyelami made the call in his message to mark Good Friday in Abuja.
He also admonished them to reflect on the crucifixion and the death of Jesus Christ on the cross of calvary for the sins and salvation of mankind.
According to him, the day is called good not because of the sufferings that Jesus Christ went through but because of the good outcome it brought to humanity hence the need for christians to meditate on the importance of the day for their spiritual upliftment.
In his words “Good Friday carries deep spiritual meaning, sacrifice for sins because Jesus died as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of mankind”.
The Clergyman therefore enjoined christians to always shun acts that would once again lead to the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ in their endeavours most especially in their service to God.
While describing Good Friday as a day for sober reflection, Reverend Deji Oyelami urged christians to be steadfast in faith and prayers in their spiritual journey as exemplify by Jesus Christ.
