Royal joy in Ile-Ife as the Ooni and Queen Mariam welcome twin princes into the House of Oduduwa.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and one of his queens, Mariam, have welcomed twin princes into the royal House of Oduduwa.


The announcement was made in a statement released on Friday in Ile-Ife by the Director of Media and Public Affairs at the Ooni’s Palace, Mr. Moses Olafare.
According to Olafare, the monarch expressed gratitude to Almighty Olodumare for the successful delivery and the healthy condition of both the mother and the newborns.
He stated that the birth of the twins has sparked excitement and celebration across the ancient city of Ile-Ife, as friends, associates, and well-wishers continue to congratulate the royal family on the arrival of the babies.
The Ooni described the birth of the twin princes as a unique blessing to the royal household and the entire House of Oduduwa.
Oba Ogunwusi also appreciated everyone who has continued to support the palace with prayers, goodwill, and love, describing the occasion as one deserving thanksgiving and celebration.
The monarch further expressed happiness over the safe delivery and reiterated the palace’s gratitude to Olodumare for His mercy and favour.
He prayed that the twin princes would grow in good health, wisdom, peace, and greatness, while becoming worthy ambassadors of the rich cultural heritage of Ile-Ife and the Yoruba race.
