Joshua survives early scare, stops Prenga in style.
Anthony Joshua overcame an early scare to secure a dramatic second-round victory over little-known Albanian boxer Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia, keeping alive expectations of a blockbuster showdown with Tyson Fury later this year.
The 36-year-old Briton appeared on the verge of one of the biggest upsets of his career after being knocked down twice in the opening round by Prenga, who entered the bout as a heavy underdog.
Joshua, however, regained his composure in the second round and unleashed a series of powerful right hands that sent Prenga crashing to the canvas, forcing a stoppage and sealing the win.
The victory improves Joshua’s professional record to 30 wins and four defeats, as he successfully recovered from a difficult start to claim the result he travelled to Jeddah to achieve.
