JAMB Unveils Bold 2031 Reform Agenda Aina Targets Transparent, Tech-Driven Admissions

The new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Segun Aina, has unveiled a five-year development agenda aimed at transforming the Board into Africa’s most trusted, innovative and accessible admissions institution.

Speaking in Abuja after assuming office, Professor Aina said the 2026–2031 strategic plan, titled “JAMB 2031: Building Trust, Reducing Trauma,” is designed to build on the achievements of his predecessor, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, through innovation, stronger institutional systems and improved service delivery.
He explained that the agenda is built on five key pillars—integrity, service, governance, technology and partnership. The plan also features seven flagship initiatives, including an independent technology review, Information Security Certification, a unified JAMB mobile application, enhanced customer service, paperless digital administration, strategic communication and improved staff welfare.
According to Professor Aina, the reforms are intended to strengthen transparency, efficiency and stakeholder confidence while reinforcing JAMB’s commitment to fair, credible and merit-based admissions. He also emphasized that people remain the institution’s greatest asset, assuring candidates of a more transparent, accessible and user-friendly admissions process.
