Arsenal F.C. defeated Tottenham Hotspur F.C. 4-1 on Sunday to re-establish their five-point advantage at the summit of the Premier League table.

Eberechi Eze, who almost signed for Tottenham before completing a move from Crystal Palace F.C. to Arsenal in August 2025, found the net for the first time since his hat-trick in November’s opening north London derby of the campaign.
Arsenal were under pressure to deliver after consecutive draws against Brentford F.C. and Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. allowed Manchester City F.C. to narrow the gap at the top.
However, Mikel Arteta’s side responded in emphatic fashion, compounding the woes of their local rivals in Igor Tudor’s first outing as interim Spurs manager.
Eze opened the scoring just past the half-hour mark, reacting quickest to hook home from close range. Tottenham hit back almost instantly, with Randal Kolo Muani restoring parity.
Viktor Gyökeres put Arsenal back in front early in the second half with what stands as his most important goal yet for the Gunners.
Eze then grabbed his second of the night, calmly finishing after Guglielmo Vicario denied Bukayo Saka.
Gyökeres sealed the emphatic victory deep into stoppage time.
Although Manchester City still have a game in hand and will host Arsenal in April in a potentially decisive encounter, this crucial win gives the Gunners renewed breathing space as they chase a first league crown in 22 years.
Tottenham, meanwhile, remain just four points clear of the relegation zone.
