CG VGN Felicitates With New IGP, Pledges Support for Successful Tenure
As President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday officially swore in Olatunji Disu as the 23rd Inspector-General of Police, the Commander General of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Dr.
Usman Mohammed Jahun, has congratulated him on his well-deserved appointment.Speaking with journalists in Abuja on the appointment of the new IGP, Dr. Usman Jahun described Olatunji Disu as a seasoned and refined police officer who will contribute meaningfully toward repositioning the Nigeria Police Force for optimal performance.
He further assured the new IGP of VGN’s support in the realization of his action plans while in office.
According to him, the VGN has, over the years, supported the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force through grassroots intelligence gathering in line with international best practices in tackling insecurity across the country.
The Commander General of the VGN also stressed the need for all stakeholders to rally support for the new IGP in safeguarding lives and property, in line with the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, particularly in strengthening security for Nigerians.
The newly appointed Inspector-General of Police is an accomplished officer with vast experience in intelligence and operational policing.
Before his elevation, Disu was in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Alagbon, Lagos.
Olatunji Disu, who previously served as Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where he coordinated security operations across Abuja and enhanced intelligence-driven policing, also led the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), overseeing several high-profile investigations and operations.
