The National Agenda for Tinubu 2027 (NAFT.27), a pioneer intellectual property think-tank and non-governmental organization that first conceptualized the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, has made a formal presentation to the President, explaining why His Excellency, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), should be officially appointed as Director-General of the 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.

NAFT.27 based its position on several cogent and verifiable reasons, emphasizing the need for a well-groomed intellectual, scholar, grassroots politician, and expert in grassroots interest aggregation. The group noted that such a figure must also understand the political dynamics of both Northern and Southern Nigeria, including the sociology of voting behavior across the regions.
In a media statement signed by the National Convener of NAFT.27, Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim MFR, a prominent APC member, political scientist, and public affairs commentator, the organization highlighted that Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, PhD, successfully piloted the affairs of the APC between 2023 and 2025. During this period, he facilitated stability within the party and championed key initiatives, including the establishment of the All Progressives Training Institute in Abuja, alongside other notable reforms.
Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim further stated that Ganduje played a significant role in encouraging opposition governors to voluntarily join the APC, positioning the party as a platform capable of fulfilling their political aspirations.
According to the group, appointing Ganduje as Director-General of the 2027 Presidential Campaign Council would not only ease the path to victory but also ensure a seamless and effective campaign structure for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, while strengthening the APC’s winning momentum.
The group also appealed to the President to apply his wisdom in making the appointment, noting that such a decision would align with the APC’s long-standing tradition, where, when the President comes from Southern Nigeria, the Director-General of the campaign is typically selected from the North.
NAFT.27 further asserted that, among political leaders in Northern Nigeria, no other figure possesses the same level of political reach, strategic insight, and network across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, as Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
