“They will tear APC banners” — Elijah Ayodele cautions All Progressives Congress over rising tension in the North
The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Elijah Ayodele, has issued a strong warning to the All Progressives Congress concerning its activities in Northern Nigeria.
Speaking in a statement released on Sunday at his church headquarters, the cleric said the political atmosphere in the region is shifting against the ruling party.Ayodele disclosed that the party could face unexpected embarrassment if it fails to handle how it projects its presence in some Northern states. He warned that frustrated residents might begin to pull down and destroy APC campaign banners.
“When they put up APC banners in the North, they’ll be destroying it,” the prophet stated, adding that the situation reflects deeper dissatisfaction among the people rather than just political opposition.
The development has stirred concern among party supporters, with fears that such signs could escalate into real-life confrontations. Many Nigerians in the region are grappling with high living costs, and Ayodele’s remarks highlight the growing frustration on the ground.
He advised the party and security agencies to prioritize dialogue over force in order to prevent unnecessary conflict.
