The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), His Excellency, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has officially submitted his resignation to pursue the presidency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the banner of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Wike aims to contest in the party primaries ahead of the general elections, which are scheduled for 2027.
