Use Every Opportunity For Impact On Citizens – Cleric Urges Leaders

The Vice President Ministerial, Nigerian Baptist Convention, Reverend John Enyinnaya has appealed to those in positions of authority to use the opportunity to make positive impact on the lives of citizens to move the country forward.

Reverend Enyinnaya who was a guest preacher at the 113th Convention Service held at the First Baptist Church Garki Abuja also advised leaders to see their tenure as an opportunity to serve and alleviate the plight of the citizens.

According to the Baptist Cleric, elected and appointed officials have no excuse as they were aware of the challenges before they accepted the responsibility.

He urged Christains not to shy away from their responsibility of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and promote harmonious relationship with their neighbors.

“Christians are the hope of Nigeria. The bible says to Christains, you are the light of the world and you are the salt of the earth.”

Speaking on the theme of the Convention:, Entering into Newness, building Resilience, Peace and Unity in adversity, Reverend Enyinnaya appealed to Christians to depend and surrender their lives to God.

The Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church Garki Abuja Reverend Tom Takpatore explained that the convention brought together members of the Nigerian Baptist Convention together to fellowship and meditate on the word of God.

According to Reverend Takpatore, members would use the annual gathering to seek the face of God and pray for transformation in the country.

The President FCT Women Group of the Church, Mrs Ronke Kehinde expressed optimism that the convention would impact positively on the lives of women especially in rebuilding homes that are passing through challenges.

“It is a time we sit down to seek the face of God, re-evaluate and plan for the future, we believe that the Glory of God would be manifested.”

“What I can tell them is that, Jesus Christ is our hope. When we look up unto him, he is going to help us. Times are difficult but we need to rely on Him.”

Another woman leader, Mrs Adenike Takpatore reminded women that God has placed them strategically to make impact in their homes and on people around them by preaching the word of God to those in the bondage of sin in the society.

She urged women not to allow the present challenges in the country affect their responsibilities at home.
