Performance Over Propaganda: APC Benue Hails Governor Alia, Backs President Tinubu’s Bold Reforms

The Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia for what it described as purposeful and visionary leadership, saying both administrations have continued to set new standards in governance through bold reforms and people-centred development.

The party said the achievements recorded by the Tinubu and Alia administrations have strengthened public confidence and reinforced the support of the people of Benue State for the APC.

The State Chairman of the APC, Benjamin Omale, made the commendation in a statement issued on Friday in Makurdi, where he praised the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Alia’s development strides across the state.

Omale said the progress recorded in Benue under Governor Alia aligns with the socio-economic and political reforms introduced by President Tinubu, noting that the President’s policies are aimed at promoting sustainable economic growth, national development, self-reliance and shared prosperity.

He listed some of the Federal Government’s major reforms to include the removal of fuel subsidy, deregulation of the petroleum sector, decentralisation of the electricity sector, the establishment of the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to provide interest-free loans for students, comprehensive tax reforms, financial autonomy for local governments and the creation of regional development commissions.

According to him, these reforms have created a favourable environment for APC-controlled states, including Benue, to implement policies that directly improve the lives of citizens.

The APC chairman said Governor Alia’s administration has ushered in an era of transparency, accountability, fiscal discipline and measurable development, citing the construction and rehabilitation of roads, completion of modern underpasses, rehabilitation of the Otobi/Otukpo and Katsina-Ala Water Works, improvements in education and healthcare, prompt payment of salaries and pensions, and investments in agriculture, food security and youth empowerment.

He also highlighted the administration’s efforts in attracting investments through the Benue State International Investment and Economic Summit, strengthening security, supporting internally displaced persons and expanding economic opportunities across the state.

“The achievements of Governor Hyacinth Alia are visible, measurable and undeniable. They demonstrate that purposeful leadership and good governance will always triumph over propaganda, misinformation and political distractions,” Omale said.

The APC maintained that it would not be distracted by what it described as baseless allegations and sponsored propaganda aimed at discrediting the government, insisting that politicians who failed while in office could not rewrite history through misinformation.

Omale stressed that governance should be judged by tangible results rather than political rhetoric.

“Governance is about performance, not propaganda. It is about service, not sensationalism. It is about delivering results, not promoting false narratives,” he stated.

The party chairman also urged APC members in Benue to remain united, warning that internal divisions and personal ambitions could undermine the party’s collective strength and create opportunities for the opposition.

He said the APC’s success has always been built on discipline, loyalty, cohesion and commitment to the development of Benue State and Nigeria, calling on members to support the leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Alia as they continue to implement the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Omale further appealed to the people of Benue to remain patient and steadfast in supporting the Alia administration, noting that leadership requires balancing competing interests and making difficult decisions for the overall good of society.

He expressed confidence that history would remember the Tinubu and Alia administrations as governments that chose courage over convenience, reforms over rhetoric, and performance over propaganda.
