Vardy shares surprising ‘juju cream’ story about Super Eagles duo

Leicester City legend Jamie Vardy has revealed that his former Nigerian teammates, Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho, used what he described as “juju cream” to aid their recovery from injuries during their time at the club.

Speaking on his podcast, Jamie Vardy’s Having A Party, the former England striker said both Super Eagles stars relied on the cream whenever they suffered minor knocks while playing for the Foxes. Vardy, who spent 13 years at Leicester from 2012 to 2025, was teammates with Ndidi and Iheanacho from 2017.
According to Vardy, the discussion arose while talking about a Ghanaian witch doctor’s failed prediction at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He recalled that Ndidi and Iheanacho would travel to Nigeria to obtain the cream, which they claimed came from a Nigerian witch doctor. He added that it was the only substance they allowed the club’s physiotherapists and masseuses to apply to their injured areas.
Vardy said, “It’s the juju cream. They used to get injured, just little knocks. They’d go back to Nigeria for like one day, literally, come back with a nice big tub of juju cream. That was the only thing the masseuses were allowed to massage on the injured area, and they used to tell us it had come from the Nigerian witch doctor.”
Former Leicester defender Christian Fuchs, who also featured on the podcast, supported Vardy’s account, saying the cream “actually helps” and that both players regularly recovered after using it.
During their Leicester careers, Iheanacho suffered four major injuries and made 232 appearances, scoring 61 goals before leaving the club in 2024. Ndidi endured nine significant injury spells but still played 273 matches, scoring 17 goals, before departing for Turkey after the 2024/25 season.
